Peter Obi Will Not Return to Labour Party, Emphasizes Electoral Reforms Ahead of 2027 Elections

The National Secretary of the Labour Party, Darlington Okocha, has stated that Peter Obi will not be returning to the party, emphasizing the party's current leadership strength. Okocha highlighted that the decision was made after careful consideration, with the party wishing Obi well on his new political journey.

Peter Obi, a former presidential candidate and ex-governor of Anambra State, reiterated the call for urgent electoral reforms ahead of the 2027 elections. He stressed the importance of electoral integrity and the need to eliminate manipulation in the electoral process.

Obi also criticized recent statements by Senate President Godswil Akpabio regarding electoral transmission results, pointing out issues with network coverage in certain states. He called on the youth to remain steadfast in demanding electoral reforms for a better Nigeria.
