Southeast Politicians and Businessmen Allegedly Support Nnamdi Kanu's Detention, Claims ZLP Chairman

Dan Iwuanyanwu, the national chairman of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), claimed that influential politicians and businessmen in the Southeast are backing the prolonged detention of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB, due to their concerns about losing power and influence if he is released. This comes amidst calls from various quarters, including Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, for Kanu's release.

The situation has led to protests in Abuja, with even Kanu's brother and lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, joining in. The reasons behind this support for Kanu's detention are rooted in political calculations and self-preservation.
