NPFL Matchday 2: Four Matches Postponed Due to Clashes

Four matches from Matchday 2 of the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) have been postponed due to fixture clashes involving clubs in continental competitions and venue-related issues. The affected matches include Sporting Lagos vs Ikorodu City, originally scheduled for Sunday, September 6, which has been moved to Wednesday, September 30, due to political events at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan.

Rivers United's match against Katsina United is postponed as they prepare for their CAF Champions League first qualifying-round tie against FC San-Pédro of Côte d’Ivoire, with the first leg on September 5 and the return leg on September 13. Enyimba's home game against Shooting Stars has also been postponed due to 3SC's continental commitments, as they will host CS Sfaxien from Tunisia on September 5.

The match between Warri Wolves and Enugu Rangers is postponed as Rangers will host AS Sobemap of Benin Republic on September 6. The remaining five fixtures for Matchday 2 will proceed as scheduled.
