El-Rufai Discusses Political Struggles and Return to Nigeria

In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, discussed his apprehensions about returning to Nigeria, suggesting that the current government fears his return. He stated that he has addressed allegations against him long ago and is prepared to defend himself against any new accusations.

El-Rufai emphasized that his political disagreements with the current administration are not personal and highlighted his longstanding relationship with Bola Tinubu, noting that they have worked together politically since Tinubu's contributions during Muhammadu Buhari's presidency. He dismissed claims of a fallout with Uba Sani, asserting that political disagreements are common and should not be personal.

El-Rufai also mentioned that he has no immediate plans to contest for any political office but remains engaged in political struggles. He criticized attempts to hinder his return, particularly regarding airport access, and expressed determination to return to Nigeria despite these challenges.
