NELFUND Extends Student Loan Applications to 2026

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced an extension of the student loan application portal until February 27, 2026. This decision follows a significant increase in nationwide demand for student loans, as highlighted by ongoing sensitization campaigns.

NELFUND's Director of Strategic Communications, Mr. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, stated that the extension aims to accommodate students who require additional time to complete their applications.

This is particularly relevant for institutions that have recently commenced the 2025/2026 academic session and have not yet submitted a verified student list. The Chief Executive Officer, Mr.

Akintund Sawyerr, reaffirmed NELFUND's commitment to equitable access to tertiary education financing. Institutions are encouraged to submit official requests for extensions alongside their academic calendars.
