NELFUND Extends Student Loan Application Deadline to 2026

The Nigerian Educ Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced an extension of the student loan application deadline to February 27, 2026, in response to a surge in nationwide demand. This decision, communicated by Mr. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications, follows significant feedback from students and stakeholders across the country.

NELFUND aims to ensure that eligible students have ample opportunity to complete their applications, particularly as the new academic session for 2025-2026 approaches. Mr. Akintund Sawyerr, Managing Director and Chief Executive of NELFUND, reaffirmed the fund's commitment to equitable access to education financing.

Institutions that have not yet commenced the 2025-2026 academic session are encouraged to submit official requests for the extension, accompanied by their approved academic calendars. NELFUND emphasizes transparency and accountability in delivering sustainable financial solutions to remove barriers to higher education in Nigeria.
