Wike approves promotion of 49 Deputy Directors in FCTA

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has approved the promotion of 49 Deputy Directors to the rank of Director in various departments of the FCT Administration (FCTA). The promotions were based on the results of a promotion examination conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission at the National Open University Centre in Bwari Area Council on August 12, 2025.

The aim of the promotion exercise, according to a statement by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister, is to clear the backlog of promotions for workers at Grade Level 16 from 2023 to 2025. Emeka Eze, the Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, explained that the newly promoted Directors will fill 49 out of 63 vacancies available across different cadres.

The promotion process saw the Education Officer Cadre receiving the highest number of promotions with 20 slots, followed by the Accountant.
