Wike Approves Promotion of 49 Deputy Directors to Directors (FULL LIST)

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has approved the promotion of 49 Deputy Directors to the rank of Directors within the FCT Administration. The promotions were based on the results of a promotion examination conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission on August 12, 2025.

The Minister's Senior Special Assistant for Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, stated that this move is part of an effort to clear the backlog of promotions for Grade Level 16 officers from 2023 to 2025. The newly promoted Directors will fill 49 out of 63 available vacancies across different cadres, with the Education Officer Cadre having the highest number of slots.

Chairman of the FCT Civil Service Commission, Emeka Eze, explained the distribution of slots and the competitive nature of the promotion process. Minister Wike had directed the adoption of a new approach to the exercise, leading the Commission to deploy a Computer-Based Test (CB.
