Wike Endorses APC Candidate for AMAC Chairmanship Seat in Abuja

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has endorsed Christopher Maikalangu, the APC candidate, for the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) chairmanship seat in the February 2026 election. Maikalangu secured the APC ticket by polling 51 votes in the primary election held in June 2025.

Wike urged residents to support Maikalangu, emphasizing the need for community development. The endorsement comes after INEC cleared political parties to campaign for the upcoming council poll.

Wike highlighted the importance of infrastructure projects, such as the road linking Tunga Madaki to the airport, in enhancing community connectivity and development. The endorsement signifies political alliances and support for the APC candidate in the upcoming local government election.
