Wizkid's Meme Sparks Buzz Amid Davido's Political Drama

Wizkid created a buzz on social media by posting a wordless meme featuring the late comedian Mr Ibu at a time when his longtime rival Davido was facing backlash over political controversies. The meme, which lacked context, was derived from a Nollywood scene where Mr Ibu and his co-star Francis plead with their boss not to fire them.

Fans quickly recognized the source, and even Wizkid's official DJ, DJ Tunez, commented with a line from the scene, confirming the meme's intended humor. This post coincided with a wave of criticism directed at Davido, linked to political developments involving his uncle, the Osun State Governor, and the All Progressives Congress.

Critics, including VeryDarkMan, accused Davido of hypocrisy for previously distancing himself from the APC while now engaging politically. Social media users echoed this sentiment, suggesting that his political involvement was motivated by personal interests rather than principles.
