Women Affairs Minister Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim Wins Award

Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman Ibrahim, the Minister of Women Affairs, has been awarded the Vanguard Award in recognition of her outstanding performance in office. The award ceremony is set to take place on April 24, 2026, at Eko Hotel in Lagos.

The award reflects her visible impact and unwavering commitment to national development. Sulaiman Ibrahim's leadership style has been compared to that of notable figures such as Geraldine Ferraro and Margaret Thatcher, emphasizing her role in championing women's leadership.

Since her appointment in October 2024, she has pursued a bold reform agenda, including a comprehensive review of national child protection policies and the launch of a national action plan to end violence against children. Her initiatives aim to empower women economically, with projects reaching 4.5 million women across 36 states and the FCT, enhancing financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Additionally, she has strengthened the implementation of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act across 35 states and the FCT.
