NDPHC CEO Advocates for Women's Empowerment in Nigeria

Jennifer Adighij, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), stated that women are critical drivers of social and national development during an event commemorating International Women's Day 2026. Adighij, the first woman to lead the company established in 2005, highlighted the importance of creating a gender-friendly workplace that allows both women and men to thrive and reach their full professional potential.

She noted that despite being the only female member of the executive management team, she has received overwhelming support from her colleagues. Adighij urged organizations and policymakers to promote gender equality in leadership positions, emphasizing that empowering women can transform families and communities, ultimately benefiting the nation.

She encouraged female employees to challenge self-imposed limits and pursue leadership opportunities. The event also featured veteran journalist Eugenia Abu, who reinforced the message of women building confidence and striving for excellence in their careers.
