Women now pillars of stability in Nigerian communities — Ex-Rep Onuigbo

Former Representative Sam Onuigbo, a member of the South East Board of the North East Development Commission, emphasized the crucial role of women in Nigerian communities, calling them pillars of stability. He urged the government to invest in women, highlighting their role in maintaining peace and harmony in communities.

Speaking at the 31st Annual August meeting organized by the Obuohia development union in Abia State, Onuigbo praised the strategic coalition formed by women to support men in community projects. He commended the efforts of women in reactivating abandoned projects and emphasized the importance of their intervention in resolving crises.

Onuigbo also acknowledged the contributions of women to the local economy and urged them to ensure children stay away from criminal activities. National Coordinator of the ODU woman wing, Mrs. Gloria Nwabuike, highlighted the need to address issues like the school syndrome, maternal problems, and drug abuse among youth through community seminars and collaboration with relevant agencies.
