2026 FIFA World Cup: Hosts, Dates, and Key Details

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will mark a historic event as it will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States, expanding the tournament to 48 teams for the first time. The competition is scheduled to take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the opening match in Mexico City.

A total of 16 cities will host matches, including Toronto, Vancouver, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Monterrey, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, and Seattle. FIFA has introduced new rules for the tournament, allowing players to wear previously prohibited items under specific conditions.

The official soundtrack will feature contributions from Nigerian artists Davido, Burna Boy, Rema, and Ayra Starr. The official match ball, named Adidas Trionda, will be unveiled on October 2, 2025, and the tournament will also introduce mascots representing each host country.
