World Cup 2026 Ticket Prices Plummet After USA, Ronaldo Exit

Following the elimination of the USA and Portugal from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, ticket prices have seen a dramatic decline. The average resale price for quarter-final tickets dropped by 31.5%, with the cheapest resale ticket for a match falling from $2,950 to $1,200, a nearly 60% decrease.

This decline in prices was reported by the secondary marketplace TickPick on Monday after the USA's 4-1 defeat to Belgium in Seattle and Portugal's 1-0 loss to Spain in Arlington, Texas, which ended Cristiano Ronaldo's World Cup career. The absence of the host nation and Ronaldo, a significant draw for fans, has reduced demand for tickets.

Additionally, the number of tickets available on the secondary market increased from 28,285 at the start of the tournament to 49,415 among quarter-final fixtures. Despite the drop in quarter-final ticket prices, demand for final tickets remains high, with the cheapest resale ticket for the World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19 standing at $9,346.
