FIFA President Gianni Infantino responded to criticisms and conspiracy theories surrounding the 2026 World Cup, which took place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament concluded last week with Spain defeating the defending champions, Argentina, 1-0 in extra time during the final held in New Jersey.

This edition marked the first time 48 teams participated, with all three co-hosts advancing to the knockout stage, and Canada achieving this milestone for the first time. Infantino addressed concerns over high ticket prices and officiating decisions via an Instagram message, stating that dissatisfaction with certain decisions is understandable but common in prestigious leagues.

He emphasized that the tournament experienced no violence or incidents, ensuring 100% safety and security, and that seven million fans from over 200 countries enjoyed the event across 16 cities and stadiums. Spain's victory marked their second title, while Argentina became one of the teams with the most final losses.
