France's Appeal for Olise's Yellow Card Rejected by FIFA

France's national football team lost their appeal against the yellow card issued to Michael Olise during their World Cup last 16 victory over Paraguay. Coach Didier Deschamps revealed on Wednesday that FIFA rejected the appeal, which was based on a clash between Olise and Paraguayan player Matias Galarza.

The incident occurred in the final minute of the match, where Olise was shown a yellow card for allegedly hitting Galarza in the face, a decision Deschamps contested, stating that replays showed minimal contact. As a result of the upheld yellow card, Olise will have to be cautious in the upcoming quarter-final match against Morocco, as another booking could lead to a suspension for a potential semi-final against either Spain or Belgium.

Additionally, Deschamps confirmed that midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who had a thigh injury, was ruled out of the game against Paraguay but may return to training soon.
