Nigeria's Information Minister Affirms Support for WPRF 2026

The Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, assured Dr. Ike Neliaku, President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), and Professor Justin Green, President and CEO of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, of the Federal Government’s full support for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja. This assurance was given during a courtesy visit on Thursday in Abuja, ahead of the forum scheduled for November.

Idris stated that Nigeria's successful bid to host the WPRF and the establishment of the first UNESCO Category-2 Media and Information Literacy Institute reflect international confidence in Nigeria's capacity to host major global events. Dr. Neliaku noted that the bid process began in 2024 during a discussion with Professor Green in Bali, Indonesia, and received strong government backing.

The forum is expected to attract over 3,000 delegates from 126 countries and will introduce the Abuja Declaration, aimed at shaping the future of public relations.
