Oshiomhole Demands License Revocation for MTN, MultiChoice

Adam Oshiomhole, the Senator representing Edo North, has urged the Nigerian House of Representatives to revoke the operating licenses of South African companies, specifically MTN Group and MultiChoice Group, in response to renewed xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa. During a plenary session, Oshiomhole condemned the latest wave of attacks and called for swift diplomatic protection measures for Nigerians abroad.

He emphasized the need for Nigeria to adopt firm actions to defend its citizens, moving beyond mere sympathy. Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State, proposed that Nigeria should nationalize MTN, citing significant repatriation of funds by the company.

His statements reflect a growing concern over the safety of Nigerians in South Africa and the need for a robust response from the Nigerian government.
