Oshiomhole Calls for Retaliation Against South African Firms

During a plenary session on Tuesday, Adams Oshiomhole called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to take retaliatory measures against South African businesses in Nigeria, specifically mentioning companies such as MTN and DSTV. This call for action follows a series of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.

Oshiomhole emphasized that the Nigerian government should respond firmly to the persistent hostility faced by its citizens abroad, arguing that South African accusations against Nigerians taking jobs should not go unchallenged. He stated that if Nigeria does not retaliate, South Africa will not engage in diplomatic discussions and will continue to disregard Nigerian lives.

Oshiomhole's remarks come amid reports of several Nigerian businesses being attacked and destroyed in South Africa, highlighting the ongoing xenophobic violence in the country.
