Yahaya Bello Wins APC Kogi Central Senatorial Primary

Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State, won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Kogi Central, achieving a total of 72,399 votes. The primary election was conducted through direct voting across five local government areas in the Kogi Central senatorial district.

Dr. Sadiq Moham announced the results, describing the exercise as orderly and credible.

Bello's victory included significant margins in various local government areas: he secured 18,341 votes in Adavi, 10,298 in Ajaokuta, and 8,943 in Ogori, among others. His closest competitor, Ibrahim Adok, received 319 votes, while Momoh Yusuf Obaro garnered 188 votes.

The process reflected the party's commitment to internal democracy and peaceful conduct during the primary elections, confirming Bello as the APC flagbearer for the Kogi Central senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
