APC Clears Yahaya Bello and Others for Senatorial Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has approved 17 senatorial aspirants, including former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello, to contest in the upcoming primaries scheduled for Monday. Bello's eligibility was subject to speculation, but he has been confirmed as the 13th name on the list for the Kogi Central senatorial district race.

He is expected to face competition from Momoh Yusuf and Ibrahim Yakubu. In Kogi West, Sundai Karimi has emerged as the consensus candidate following a stakeholders' meeting led by Governor Usman Ododo at the Government House in Lokoja.

Six aspirants, including former Senator Smart Adeyemi, were cleared by the committee, with Karimi considered the frontrunner. In Kogi East, seven aspirants have been cleared to contest the APC primaries, including incumbent Senator Isah Echocho.

Meanwhile, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has produced its candidates for various federal constituencies, with Abdulrahman Badamasuii emerging as the consensus candidate for the Okehi/Adavi federal constituency.
