Yamal Shines as Spain Beats Saudi Arabia 4-0 in World Cup

In their opening match of the World Cup held at Atlanta Stadium, Spain triumphed over Saudi Arabia with a score of 4-0. The 18-year-old Barcelona star, Yamal, marked his World Cup debut by scoring his first goals, becoming the second youngest Spaniard to score in a major international tournament, following Gavi at Euro 2024.

Mikel Oyarzabal played a pivotal role, contributing two goals and an assist. Yamal opened the scoring in the 10th minute by converting a cross from Oyarzabal.

Oyarzabal doubled the lead in the 21st minute, reacting quickly to a knockdown from Aymeric Laporte, and scored again three minutes later with a composed finish from a Dani Olmo pass. Coach Luis de la Fuente substituted Yamal and Oyarzabal at halftime.

Spain secured their victory with a fourth goal in the second half, when Saudi Arabian defender Hassan Al Tambakti inadvertently turned a low cross into his own net. This win positioned Spain at the top of Group H with four points ahead of their next match against Uruguay.
