Adeola and Marcus-Bello Clash Over Yewa Ancestry Claims

The controversy surrounding the ancestry of Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, intensified as Folake Marcus-Bello, a former Nigerian Ambassador to Zambia and Malawi, asserted that Adeola is not from Yewa. During a live television program, Marcus-Bello claimed to possess documentary evidence contradicting Adeola's claims of Yewa ancestry.

Adeola responded by labeling her allegations as “assertive and outrageous lies,” demanding that Marcus-Bello and Abayomi Hunye provide proof within 24 hours or face legal action. Marcus-Bello emphasized the importance of Yewa representation in the upcoming 2027 governorship election, arguing that the candidate should have undisputed roots in the area.

She proposed a public debate to present her evidence, including documentation from Adeola's father's burial in Ekiti State. Adeola, through his Media Adviser Kayode Odunaro, refuted the claims and challenged the accusers to substantiate their allegations.
