Ogun 2027: APC Candidate Adeola Faces Origin Allegations

The political climate in Ogun State intensified on Tuesday as Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 election, confronted Hon. Abayomi Hunye over allegations regarding his state of origin. Adeola, through his Media Adviser Chief Kayode Odunaro, issued a 24-hour ultimatum for Hunye to withdraw his candidacy, claiming that Hunye alleged Adeola was from Ekiti State rather than Ogun State.

Adeola threatened to pursue libel lawsuits against those making these claims, demanding verifiable evidence to support their assertions. He described the allegations as “assertive and outrageous lies” and challenged his accusers to provide proof or face legal consequences.

In response, Hon. Abayomi Hunye, via his Media Adviser Femi Oyewale, dismissed Adeola's ultimatum as a “political jamboree” and expressed readiness for a legal battle, asserting that the issue of a candidate's origin is a constitutional matter.
