YEDC Announces 4-Day Power Outage in Maiduguri for Maintenance

Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) has scheduled a 4-day power outage in Maiduguri and nearby areas to facilitate maintenance work at the Maiduguri Emergency Power Plant (MEPP). The outage will occur daily from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm starting from November 4 to November 7, 2025.

YEDC stated that the shutdown is necessary for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to conduct inspections on gas turbine parts under a long-term service agreement. The company has urged customers to bear with them and assured that power will be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
