Yobe State Confirms Accidental Airstrike Casualties

On Saturday, an accidental airstrike occurred at Jilli market in Gubio Local Government Area, Yobe State, leading to civilian casualties primarily affecting traders from Geidam Local Government Area. The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) confirmed the incident and reported that at least 30 people died, while other reports suggested up to 200 fatalities. Following the incident, Governor Mai Mala Buni directed SEMA to activate emergency response mechanisms, collaborating with relevant security agencies and health authorities to assess the situation and provide necessary support to victims.
