Yobe State Government Offers 800 Free Dialysis Sessions
The Yobe State Government is providing more than 800 free dialysis sessions each month to patients suffering from chronic kidney disease (CKD) through the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital (YSUTH). This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden associated with accessing specialized treatment.
Prof. Baba Waru Goni, the Chief Medical Director of YSUTH, announced this program on Wednesday while presenting the hospital’s progress report to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Mohammed Goje. Prof. Goni emphasized that this intervention reflects Governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to enhancing access to specialized healthcare.
He noted that YSUTH also offers MRI and CT scan services at affordable rates, attracting patients from the North-East and beyond. Dr. Goje praised the hospital's management and medical staff for their contributions to healthcare delivery and assured them of ongoing support from the state government.
He reiterated the administration's commitment to improving healthcare institutions and expanding access to affordable medical services.
