Davido Criticizes APC During Lagere Flyover Inauguration

On Monday, David Adeleke, known as Davido, criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for what he termed attempts to obstruct progress in Osun State. His comments followed the inauguration of the Lagere Flyover in Ile-Ife by his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Davido shared videos from the inauguration on his X account, expressing enthusiasm over the large turnout, stating, “You can’t stop God’s project!!” He questioned the APC's motives, stating, “APC is just backward. Why would they be doing anything to stop progress?” The Lagere Flyover, part of a ₦14.9 billion infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic congestion, was flagged off by Adeleke in May 2024.

The project includes road expansion and dualisation works, connecting key areas in Ile-Ife. The inauguration occurred just days before the August 15 Osun State governorship election, where Adeleke is seeking re-election under the Accord Party against APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
