Atiku Criticizes Tinubu's Rice Palliatives as Political Tool

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, has publicly condemned the Tinubu administration for allegedly weaponizing hunger and poverty through its recent food distribution initiative. This criticism follows the announcement by First Lady Remi Tinubu, who unveiled a plan to distribute 100 truckloads of rice valued at 1.2 billion naira as palliatives to Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Atiku's spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, stated that the initiative is a political maneuver aimed at exploiting the hardships faced by Nigerians. He emphasized that such actions are inappropriate and reflect poorly on the government's performance, suggesting that the distribution of food should not be used as a campaign tool but rather as a genuine effort to alleviate poverty and hunger.
