Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu's Food Distribution Politics

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar launched a scathing critique against President Bola Tinubu's administration, accusing the federal government of weaponizing hunger through food distribution politics. In a statement released on Friday by his spokesperson Phrank Shaibu, Atiku condemned the recent public distribution of rice in northern states, describing it as an insult to the dignity of citizens and a failure of economic policy.

He highlighted the tragic state of poverty under the current leadership, where families struggle to afford basic nutrition due to rampant inflation. Atiku pointed out the collapse of agricultural production and the insecurity displacing farmers, criticizing the administration for opting for food handouts instead of restoring safety to the nation's food basket.

He alleged that the strategy of politicizing hunger began with Seyi Tinubu's food distribution during Ramadan last year. Atiku firmly rejected the notion that Nigerians are beggars, insisting that the focus should be on sustainable agricultural policies rather than temporary relief measures.
