Rhodes-Vivour Critiques Lagos Sanitation Efforts as Unimaginative

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned the Lagos State government's reintroduction of the monthly sanitation exercise, stating that it reflects a lack of imagination and innovation. In his remarks shared on Friday, Rhodes-Vivour argued that merely shutting down the megacity of Lagos does not address the root problems of environmental sanitation.

He emphasized that without a significant overhaul of the existing systems, such exercises would yield little long-term impact. Rhodes-Vivour's criticism included a call for careful planning and responsibility in the execution of sanitation efforts.

Wahab, presumably a government official, noted that major transport unions have agreed to restrict movement during the sanitation window, except for emergencies, indicating a structured approach to the exercise. However, Rhodes-Vivour's stance highlights a broader concern regarding the effectiveness of such initiatives in addressing environmental issues in Lagos State.
