Young Innovators Shine at Enugu Campus Hackathon

The inaugural Enugu Campus Hackathon showcased young innovators, culminating in a grand final held at the International Conference Centre in Enugu. Enugu State Governor Dr.

Peter Mbah emphasized the event's role in the state's strategy to transition from a consumption-driven economy to a product-led economy. The hackathon featured three main winners: the top prize of $5,000 went to Growdex, an AI-powered advertising platform; the second prize of $3,500 was awarded to Zaddi, a tech-enabled logistics platform; and the third prize of $2,500 was given to Ambu Gynacar, a health tech startup developing biodegradable sanitary pads.

All winners will also participate in a six-month post-hackathon incubation program valued at $10,000. Governor Mbah highlighted the importance of building a modern economy capable of competing on a global stage, supported by a shift in educational infrastructure to produce problem solvers.
