Youth Coalition Boosts Voter Education in Yobe State

The Youth Coalition for Better Yobe State (YOCBYS) has ramped up its voter education initiatives across Yobe State, focusing on civic responsibility and the electoral process. Led by state coordinator Moham Maina, the coalition conducted a sensitization exercise in the Dikumari community of Damaturu Local Government Area.

Maina highlighted that the initiative aims to inform residents about the critical importance of voter registration and active participation in elections. The outreach emphasized the necessity of obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and included interactive sessions designed to educate community members on the value of peaceful conduct during elections.

The coalition aims to address issues such as electoral violence and misinformation. Maina encouraged eligible citizens, with special emphasis on youth and women, to remain engaged in the ongoing voter registration process and upcoming electoral activities.

The efforts of YOCBYS have been commended for significantly enhancing the understanding of civic duties and democratic rights among the youth in the region.
