Zamfara State Launches N499 Million Gratuity Payments

Zamfara State has commenced the payment of N499 million in gratuities to retirees, as announced by Rufa Hassan Gusau, the spokesperson for the state’s Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. This initiative is part of the administration's commitment under Governor Dauda Lawal to enhance the welfare of former workers who served the state diligently.

The payments will be made monthly, ensuring that all retirees receive their entitlements without unnecessary delays. Ahmad Garba Yandi, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, explained that the release of funds for the third batch of gratuity payments follows a careful verification of documents to ensure transparency and fairness in the process.

The governor has been commended for prioritizing the welfare of pensioners despite the numerous challenges facing the state. The ministry reassured retirees that they will continue to work closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely payments of gratuity and pensions.
