Marafa Vows to Tackle Insecurity and Reform Education

Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, the Zamfara state governorship candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), launched his campaign on Tuesday at the party secretariat in Gusau. He pledged to tackle insecurity and reform education if elected in the upcoming election.

Marafa criticized both the Zamfara state government and the federal government for their failure to resolve the ongoing security crisis in Northern Nigeria, particularly in Zamfara, which has faced banditry, kidnapping, and rural attacks for years. He stated, “Both the state and federal governments have failed to put an end to the security problems in Northern Nigeria.

My administration will bring this to an end.” Marafa outlined that addressing insecurity would be foundational to delivering other democratic benefits, promising to restore peace and provide essential social amenities across the 14 local government areas of the state. He emphasized the importance of a secure Zamfara for attracting investment and allowing farmers and traders to resume their activities without fear, highlighting the welfare of youth and women as central to his vision for a progressive society.
