Zaria Faces Doctor Shortage - Emir Calls for Improved Healthcare Access

Zaria is facing a shortage of doctors, as revealed by the Emir of Zazzau during a free medical outreach program organized by the Medical Women Association Nigeria (MWAN) in collaboration with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). The Emir expressed concern over the limited number of doctors serving the city's large population, leading to challenges in providing healthcare services, especially at the Gambo Sawaba General Hospital.

The outreach program aimed to bring medical and surgical services closer to the people, benefiting numerous patients with services like minor surgeries, cervical screenings, dental care, and eye treatments. The Emir commended MWAN and CHAI for their timely intervention in addressing the healthcare needs of the community.
