Zenith Bank Leads Lagos Clean-Up for World Environment Day

On June 3, 2026, Zenith Bank PLC conducted a clean-up exercise along Ajos Adeogun Street in Victoria Island, Lagos, as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship. This initiative involved employees of the bank, representatives from the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), and the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA).

The clean-up aimed to remove litter and promote environmental awareness among residents and businesses in one of Lagos's busiest commercial districts. Adebayo, a participant, noted the importance of practical action in addressing climate change, emphasizing that climate action should not solely rely on government efforts.

Following the initial clean-up, the focus shifted to the Falomo waterfront in Ikoyi, where a larger-scale operation targeted marine debris to promote healthier waterways. This exercise reflects Zenith Bank's broader environmental initiatives commemorating World Environment Day 2026, which emphasized the urgent need for climate action and sustainable practices.
