Zenith Bank Launches Côte d'Ivoire Subsidiary in 2026

Zenith Bank PLC officially launched its subsidiary in Côte d'Ivoire on April 29, 2026, marking a significant achievement in the bank's pan-African expansion strategy. The launch ceremony is expected to attract senior government officials, business leaders, and diplomats, highlighting strategic economic investment opportunities in both Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire.

The new subsidiary, which received its license in December 2025 from the Minister of Finance and Budget of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, will commence operations from its headquarters located on Wall Street Avenue, Nogu's Plateau, Abidjan. This strategic move aims to deepen Zenith Bank's presence in Francophone West Africa and strengthen financial intermediation within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).

The Côte d'Ivoire subsidiary will focus on corporate banking, trade finance, and providing tailored financial solutions for businesses operating across Africa. Dame Dr.

Adaora Umeoji, the Group Managing Director and CEO, and Jim Ovia, the Founder and Chairman, emphasized the goal of building a truly global brand with a strong presence across Africa.
