Zenith Bank Launches Côte d'Ivoire Subsidiary in 2026

Zenith Bank Plc launched its subsidiary in Côte d'Ivoire on April 29, 2026, as part of its strategy to expand its pan-African presence. The official opening ceremony is expected to attract top government officials, financial regulators, business leaders, and diplomats from Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire.

The new subsidiary, licensed in December 2025, will operate from its headquarters located on Wall Street Avenue, Nogu's Plateau, Abidjan. This initiative is designed to strengthen financial intermediation within the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and support cross-border trade and investment across Africa.

Adaora Umeoji, the Group Managing Director and CEO of Zenith Bank Plc, stated that the launch aligns with the bank's long-term vision to build a globally recognized African financial institution. The subsidiary will be led by C.

Dric Tano, an experienced banking executive with 20 years in the financial services sector, and aims to combine international best practices with strong local expertise to drive innovation and contribute to the growth of the Ivorian economy and the wider WAEMU region.
