Zenith Bank and Ford Foundation Honor 19 Women Leaders

On March 28, 2026, Zenith Bank PLC, in partnership with the Ford Foundation, honored 19 outstanding Nigerian women with the inaugural 'Woman of Power' Award during a ceremony held at the Civic Centre in Lagos. This event marked the grand finale of Zenith Bank's month-long activities commemorating Women's Month.

The award aims to recognize and spotlight the resilience, leadership, and significant contributions of women across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones, including sectors such as trade, education, agriculture, and healthcare. The awardees were selected based on criteria including leadership, community impact, innovation, perseverance, integrity, and philanthropy.

Notable recipients included Regina Amankulor, a retired nurse empowering youth in Abia State, and Mari Matanmi, a coordinator at the Nigeria Association of Hairdressers and Barbers in Lagos. Adaora Umeoji, the Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank, and Chichi Aniagolu, the Regional Director of the Ford Foundation, emphasized the importance of gender inclusivity and the bank's commitment to women's empowerment initiatives.
