Historic Royal Banquet for Tinubu at Windsor Castle

On Wednesday night, a significant royal banquet was held at Windsor Castle, hosted by King Charles III for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. This event is notable as it marks the first state visit by a Muslim leader during Ramadan in nearly a century.

The royal household made several adaptations to accommodate Islamic fasting, including a non-alcoholic dinner and a special mocktail called "Crimson Bloom." The menu featured a multi-course meal reflecting both British and Nigerian cultures, with dishes such as fillet turbot and lobster moussaka. A dedicated prayer room was reportedly established for guests to observe their religious practices.

President Tinubu presented King Charles with an Eyo statuette, while the King gifted a large peacock plate. First Lady Oluremi Tinubu presented Queen Camilla with a jewelry box featuring the faces of influential Nigerian women, and Queen Camilla reciprocated with a silver enamel bowl.
