North Will Not Support Atiku in 2027, Says Sani

Anthony Sani, the former Secretary General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), indicated that the North will not support Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the 2027 elections. Sani explained that the North believes it is their turn to reclaim the presidency in 2031, thus they will not vote for Atiku in 2027.

He emphasized that the North respects the zoning arrangement and expects the South to complete its eight-year term in alignment with the spirit of the zoning accord. Sani accused the South of attempting to stifle the zoning arrangement by supporting Atiku, asserting that the North's decision is based on the principle that the South should finish its term before the presidency returns to the North.
