PDP Group in Ondo State Criticizes Zoning of Presidential Ticket as Undemocratic

A PDP group in Ondo State criticized the party's decision to zone the presidential ticket to the southern part of Nigeria, calling it undemocratic and unacceptable. The Gbenga Hassim Solidarity Movement (GHSM) expressed concerns that this zoning arrangement would prevent qualified individuals from governing.

They accused some powerful individuals within the party of manipulating the process to favor a weak candidate from the South. The group condemned the decision by the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP to zone the 2027 presidential ticket to the South, alleging it as a deliberate breach of the party's constitution.

The GHSM emphasized the need for a fair and competitive selection process for the party's presidential candidate.
