Multichoice Group Faces Potential Removal of 11 Channels from DStv Platform in 2025

Multichoice Group has confirmed the possible removal of 11 well-known channels from its DStv platform by December 31, 2025, as negotiations with Warner Bros and Discovery Channel have hit a deadlock. This development has raised concerns among viewers as popular channels like Discovery Channel, TLC Africa, and CNN International may cease broadcasting if new agreements are not reached.

Despite the uncertainty, Multichoice assures subscribers of continued access to alternative content like Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, National Geographic, and others. The move comes amidst Multichoice's restructuring efforts, increased competition from global streaming platforms, and a decline in subscriptions in key African markets.
