13 Journalists Injured in Bauchi Car Crash While Covering Government Event

Thirteen journalists were injured in a car crash in Bauchi, Nigeria, along the Yashi Yelwan Duguri road in the Alkaleri Local Government Area. The incident occurred as the vehicle, conveying journalists to cover an event led by the Ministry of State for Regional Development, veered off the road and tumbled several times.

The journalists, including correspondents from NAN, The Guardian, NTA, AIT, Channels TV, Bauchi Radio Corporation, and BATV, suffered injuries such as compound fractures and head injuries. They were initially taken to the Yelwan Duguri Cottage Hospital for emergency treatment before being transferred to the Bauchi General Hospital for further medical attention.

The driver, who was conveying the journalists, was reported to be the driver of the Bauchi State Deputy Governor. The injured journalists received sympathy visits from government officials and were provided with specialized care at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH).
