Bus Crash Injures Journalists Covering NEDC Projects in Bauchi State

A bus transporting 13 journalists from various media organizations crashed in Bauchi State, Nigeria, while covering projects for the Northeast Development Commission (NEDC). The accident occurred on Yashi Yelwan Duguri Road in Alkaleri Local Government Area.

Abba Musa, Head of Corporate Services at NEDC, extended sympathies on behalf of the commission and offered full support to the injured journalists. The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Bauchi State Council and the Bauchi State Government were also mentioned in expressing condolences.

The accident happened on February 6, 2026, during a project handover event. The injured journalists included personnel from media outlets like Bauchi Radio Corporation (BRC), Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), African Independent Television (AIT), and others.

NEDC promised to provide medical care and assistance to the affected journalists and their families.
