13 Suspected Cultists Arrested in Kwara State Raid

On Friday, the Kwara State Police Command, led by spokesperson Adetoun Ejir Adeyemi, announced the arrest of 13 suspected cultists and drug peddlers during a coordinated raid at Tank Junction in Ilorin, the state capital. The operation resulted in the recovery of 24 motorcycles and various illicit substances, including cannabis sativa, crystal methamphetamine, Colorado, and tramadol.

The suspects are believed to be involved in cult-related activities, street violence, and illicit drug trafficking, which pose a threat to public peace and safety in the area. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects used the location as a gathering point for drug peddling and recruiting youths into unlawful societies while intimidating residents.

The police have intensified efforts to apprehend fleeing accomplices and dismantle the criminal network. The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
