14 Confirmed Dead in Kebbi Boat Capsizing Incident

On a tragic day in Kebbi State, 14 individuals confirmed dead following a boat capsizing incident on the River Niger in the Gumbi community of Yauri Local Government Area. The deceased included 13 females and a child, who were part of a larger group of around 100 people on the boat.

The incident occurred while accompanying a bride and her husband from Gwarzo in Ngaski Local Government Area. Governor Nasir Idris expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased, emphasizing the need for acceptance of the incident as part of divine will.

Abubakar Shu Aibu, the local chairman of Yauri, was briefed on the situation. The deceased were buried according to Islamic rites.

Governor Idris's chief press secretary, Ahm Idris, conveyed the governor's appeal for the families to bear the loss with faith, underscoring that nothing happens without the knowledge of Allah.
