14 Wedding Guests Drown in Kebbi Boat Capsize Tragedy

On Monday, a tragic boat disaster occurred in Kebbi State, resulting in the drowning of fourteen wedding guests, including thirteen women and a child. The victims were returning to Gwarzo Village from a wedding in Ngaski Local Government Area when their overloaded vessel capsized in the River Gumbi.

Rescue efforts were unable to save those on board. Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris attended the funeral prayers for the deceased and extended condolences to the families affected by the tragedy.

The Emir of Yauri and the chairman of Yauri Local Government, Abubakar Shu Aibu, urged mourners to accept the tragedy as God's will and to pray for divine mercy. The victims were laid to rest according to Islamic rites, and the community continues to mourn the loss of lives that were meant to celebrate a joyous occasion.
